The Master Cleanse, is it all Hype?
Master Cleanse” width=”424″ height=”283″ />
My husband had been wanting to try the Master Cleanse ever since he saw his cousin who’s “skin was glowing”. It consists of a fast with enough daily calories to keep you from starving, using lemonade, cayenne pepper and grade b maple syrup. She lost a ten pounds and claimed she had a big boost in energy. I have heard that other diets can be just as cleansing, like a raw food diet or a juice fast. But since my husband wasn’t up for those and this was the one he wanted to try I figured, well, why not? I know myself, I would never get up the nerve to do it. But he’s preparing the drinks so the least I can do is be encouraging and give it a shot, a shot of Master Cleanse cocktail, that is!
I know, some of you out there are thinking that fasting and cleansing is bad for you. Although I do think it could be bad for some people, I personally think it will be fine for me. I have read plenty that juice fasts and fasts in general are great for Rheumatoid Arthritis. I also know someone who regularly tried fasting and felt that it really helped. I am a believer in the idea that we do store toxins in our intestines and foods such as Lentils can get stuck in the intestinal track. And what happens then? Even a guy this morning (whom I trust) told me that his ex-girlfriend received colon hydrotherapy. He said that the doctors found lentils in her intestines and the last time she had eaten them were two years before.
All I know is, this is one thing I haven’t tried. How do I know it won’t make my RA magically disappear? Although I have my doubts, other ideas I have tried like LDN and Neprinol have made me a believer. The myth that, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” just doesn’t resonate with me anymore. The Master Cleanse claims to cure “every kind of disease” and I will never know officially until I try it myself. So here I go, on my new journey. I have decided at the moment, to keep up on my LDN but that I won’t take my Neprinol supplementation until the 10 days are over. I may change my mind, but for now, that’s my decision.
I will let you know as each day passes, how I’m feeling.
So here it is, the beginning of a 10 day journal:
Day 1:
I’m only half the day in but so far I’m hungry….not crazily hungry but mildly, annoyingly hungry. I’m not weak and actually have plenty of energy. I’m one of those women that eats all the time. I eat healthy generally but I’m use to constantly stuffing some kind of food in my mouth. Doing ten days of this seems taxing, but I have to keep reminding myself that you just never know……..it could help me in the end. I’ve taken a good look at my fingers, wrists and forearm and mentally noted the amount of swelling no drug or supplement has ever gotten rid of and I’m hoping this cleanse does the trick. Only time will tell.
